Troisdorf


 
 

Troisdorf is a city in Germany (Population (31.03.2003 est): 75 568), in the Bundesland of North Rhine-Westphalia, located ca. 22 kilometers south of Cologne and 13 kilometers north east of Bonn (7' 9" east, 50' 49" north, total area: 62,17 square kilometers, altitude: 48 -134,4 m). It is part of the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis (district).

In 1952 Troisdorf became a free city, in 1969 the urban area got extended with the township of Sieglar and the villages Altenrath and Friedrich-Wilhelms-H?tte (total population 1969: about 51 000). The first colonization goes back to the 9th (Eschmar and Sieglar 832) and 10th ( Bergheim 987) century with the first churches build around 700 AD in Bergheim (St. Lambertus).
