Triton (moon)
Triton (trye'-tun, Greek Τρίτων) is the planet Neptune's largest moon, discovered by William Lassell on October 10 1846, just 17 days after the planet itself was discovered. Lassell believed that he had also seen a ring around Neptune, which was later confirmed. Triton is also designated Neptune I.
