Tripoli, Lebanon
Tripoli (Arabic طرابلس Trablus, academically transliterated ?ar?bulus) is the second-largest city in Lebanon.

In ancient times it was a Phoenician city, and was later controlled successively by the Persians, Romans, Arabs, Crusaders, Mameluks, and Ottomans. The Crusaders established the County of Tripoli there in the 12th century.
