Transwa Prospector

The Transwa Prospector is a passenger train that runs between Perth, Western Australia, and the Goldfields town of Kalgoorlie.

The Prospector railcars first entered service in November 1971. The first of three new generation railcars entered service on the 28th of June 2004, with the original railcars being retired on the 29th of July 2005. The new railcars are built for a top speed of 210 km/h, however track conditions currently only allow a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
