Tracie Spencer

Tracie Spencer, is an African-American soul singer born 1975, in Waterloo, Iowa. Known for her trademark supercurly mane, Tracie endeared herself to America by winning on Star Search in 1986, singing Whitney Houston's hit How Will I Know. A child prodigy, she had a hit record in her eponymous debut on Capitol Records in 1988 (the song "Symptons Of True Love" written by Klarmann/Weber), then followed that with her sophmore smash Make The Difference in 1990, which featured Tender Kisses. Her biggest success on the Hot 100 came in 1991 with "This House". During the 1990s, she "semi-retired" from the entertainment business to live a normal teenager life. She resurfaced in 1999 with Tracie, her "Coming of age record" as she puts it. Her single Still In My Heart, features her rolling high flutey notes in the background. She is currently working on a new album. Tracie attended Columbus High School.
