Tony Parsons (British journalist)
Tony Parsons (born 1955) is a British journalist and author.

Parsons began his career as a music journalist on the NME before moving on to more general topics. Later, he wrote for the Daily Telegraph, going on to write his current column for The Mirror. He has appeared on the arts review programme Newsnight Review on BBC2. Parsons briefly hosted a series on Channel Four called Big Mouth.

Parsons' novels include Man and Boy, Man and Wife, The Family Way, and One for My Baby. The books focus on the difficulties of thirty-something-year-old new men. The style is reminiscient of Nick Hornby.

Parsons married fellow journalist Julie Burchill. They divorced acrimoniously, and Parsons has been quoted as saying "my career is my revenge on Burchill".

Parsons was best man at the wedding of fellow NME journalist and author Paul Wellings, who wrote about their friendship and about Julie Burchill in his book I'm a Journalist, Get Me Out of Here!

He and Burchill collaborated on a book in 1979 – The Boy Looked at Johnny – an unrelentingly nihilistic analysis of punk rock.
