Tony Janiro
Tony Janiro (October 27, 1927–February 21, 1985) was a smooth boxing middleweight out of Youngstown, Ohio. The talented Janiro never realized his full potential, and never won a championship although he faced many of the top fighters of his era. Known as a playboy, who avoided training, Janiro nevertheless compiled a record of 80 wins (26 KOs) 15 losses and 2 draws.

During his career he fought hall of famers Rocky Graziano, Jake LaMotta and Kid Gavilan. Janiro fought from 1943 until 1952. After his retirement he worked as a bartender at the Neutral Corner- a bar near Stillman's Gym frequented by boxing managers and trainers, and often referred to by A.J. Liebling in his boxing pieces.
