Tony Hawk's American Wasteland

Tony Hawk's American Wasteland is a video game currently announced for Microsoft's Xbox 360 video game console. It will also be available for the PS2, Xbox, and Nintendo GameCube. The game is currently in development by Neversoft and will be published by Activision. Tony Hawk's American Wasteland is the first Tony Hawk game to support Xbox Live, online play was previously limited to the PlayStation 2.

With no loading times, explore the bustling city Los Angeles, from Hollywood to South Central. Featuring new moves such as the handstand Natas Spin and the Bert Slide (innovated by skateboarding legend Tony Alva), players will now have new moves in their skate aresnal. Also, invade Los Angeles with either a skateboard or the new feature of riding BMX, including all new BMX physics and tricks.

American Wasteland is the sequel to Tony Hawk's Underground 2, one of many in the popular Tony Hawk extreme sports game series. The game is expected to be released on October 18, 2005. This is around the time of the expected release of the Xbox 360 in November 2005.

The Nintendo DS version of this game will be one of the first to support the Wi-Fi functions, allowing online compatability.

In the September 2005 edition of Game Informer Magazine, a map was shown displaying THAW'S Los Angeles with an insert of an overhead view of the Boston stage from Tony Hawk's Underground 2 for comparison. The Boston level appeared to be about three quarters the size of one THAW area, with the obvious exceptions of the "Vans Skatepark" and "Casino" areas.
