Tony Blundetto and Tony Soprano are cousins. They were close childhood friends and came up together in the ranks of the DiMeo/Soprano crime family. Blundetto was a growing force in the mob until the early 1990s when he was arrested and spent 15 years in prison. After he was released on parole, "Tony B." initially decided not to return to his previous life as a gangster and decided to go straight and become a licensed massage therapist. However, after sabotaging his own efforts to open a legitimate massage business, he returned to a life in the mob. Against orders from Tony Soprano, he joined Little Carmine in his turf war with Johnny Sack. Blundetto's out-of-control behavior sparked the ire of Johnny Sack's crew and threats of revenge against the Soprano family. To appease relations with Sack, Tony Soprano killed his cousin with a shotgun blast to the head.
