Tom Sutter


 

Tom Sutter ( born September 25 1962 in Glendale, California ) is a professional baseball player who played for the Atlanta Braves from 1980 -- 1983 as shortstop. He retired due to an arm injury. During his career, he only had three at-bats; in one, he hit a home run down the left out-of-bounds line on a pitch from Orel Hershiser. He got a base hit, a single over the third-baseman's head on a an outside curve ball pitched by Nolan Ryan. Later in the same game, Nolan got his revenge by striking him out.
