Tom Slick

Thomas Baker "Tom" Slick (1916–1962) was a San Antonio, Texas based businessman and adventurer.

Slick made a fortune in oil. He later turned his attention to expeditions to investigate Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and Yeti. Slick's interest in cryptozoology was little known until the 1989 publication of his biographer Loren Coleman's Tom Slick and the Search for Yeti. Coleman has continued his Tom Slick-related research and in 2002, a new edition of his book Tom Slick: True Life Encounters in Cryptozoology (ISBN 0941936740) was published by Linden Press (Fresno, California). The book mentions many of Tom Slick's adventures, in politics, art, science, and cryptozoology, including his involvement with the CIA and Howard Hughes.
