They were later bought by Benetton and renamed Benetton Formula Ltd. In turn, this was bought by Renault and became Renault F1.

Toleman's bright spot in their short time in the sport (not including turning into Benetton or Renault) is one of their 1984 drivers, Ayrton Senna. He was one of their more successful drivers and went on to become a racing champion.
