Ieyasu as a person

Ieyasu is known for being a loyal towards his personal friends and general whom he rewarded. However he also remember those who wronged him in the past. It is said that he executed a man whom insulted Ieyasu when he was a just child.

Ieyasu favourite past time hobby is taking a swim in the river and hawking. He didnt enjoy music and poetry much.

Although Ieyasu has sometimes known for being heartless, (due to his upbringing surrounded with wars and destruction).

It is said that Ieyasu expressed compassion at the decapited head Takeda Katsuyori after the fall of Takeda clan. Ieyasu protected many former Takeda retainers from Nobunaga's wrath whom is known for having a bitter grudge towards the Takeda clan. Also Ieyasu cared for his granddaughter more than anything else, even though Ieyasu personally ordered his men to execute Hideyori's infant son.
