Titanosaurus (monster)

Titanosaurus (??????? - Chitanozaurusu) was a fictitious aquatic dinosaur which first appeared in the 1975 tokusatsu kaiju film, Terror of Mechagodzilla. The monster originated in the Bonin Islands near Ogasawara (which is where Monster Island is). Gentle in nature, it was discovered by a mad scientist named Shinzô Mafune (played by Akihiko Hirata), who implanted a control device, with which he can remotely control it with a computer. Titanosaurus was later used to help Mechagodzilla fight against Godzilla, who defeated both monsters at the end of the film. Titanosaurus, unlike Godzilla's other foes in the same decade, was a tragic monster.
