Over the course of the novel the main characters meet such historical personages as Ghengas Khan and Alexander the Great. However this small population seems to be all there is. Scattered thouout this mix of worlds are giant metallic spheres hanging in the air unexpectedly... ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
