Tilton, New Hampshire
Tilton is a town located in Belknap County, New Hampshire, on the Winnipesaukee River. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,477. The town was incorporated in 1869, having formerly been a part of the neighboring town of Sanbornton. Tilton is unique for the presence of several statues distributed throughout the town, given as gifts by the town founder, Charles E. Tilton, including the Tilton Arch. The town also contains the Tilton School, a private preparatory school.
