Thomond is occasionally used in Ireland in names: for instance, Thomond College of Education was a teacher training college in Limerick, until it was amalgated with the University of Limerick. Thomond Park is also located in Limerick, whilst Thomondgate and Thomond Bridge are also in Limerick.

Thomand was also an Irish car manufacturer located in Dublin, Ireland which produced only four cars from 1925 to 1933 and did not survive the Great Depression.

Postage stamps inscribed "Thomond" appeared in the 1960s but these can be regarded as bogus.
