Thomas M. Cooley Law School, named after a former Michigan Supreme Court Justice, was established in 1972 by Thomas E. Brennan and accredited in 1978 by the American Bar Association. Presently the enrollment stands at approximately 2,884 students, most of whom are earning the degree of Juris Doctor (J.D.). The law school also offers a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Tax or in Intellectual Property, a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.), and foreign study programs. As of 2004, the school's faculty includes 95 full-time professors and 100 adjunct or visiting professors. Cooley has satellite campuses in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Rochester, Michigan.
