Thomas Bragg
Thomas Bragg (9 November 1810 -- 21 January 1872) was the Democratic governor of the U.S. state of North Carolina from 1855 to 1859. Bragg later served as a U.S. Senator from 1859 to 1861. When the Civil War began, he became attorney general of the Confederate States from 1861 to 1863.
