Thionville

Demographics

The population has boomed in the Industrial Revolution, but economic slowdown of the 1970s affected Thionville and ares. The population began to decrease. The population rose again in the 1990s and in suburban Hettange Grande in the east while the western part of the new agglomeration are decreasing aroung Hayange. The aggomeration is still losing population but the decrease has been slowed down.

Due to his proximity to Luxembourg (15 kilometers far from the border), population and quality of life are both increasing since the end of 1990s - early 2000s.
