The Wild Party
The Wild Party is a poem written by Joseph Moncure March.
Lippa
The second musical version, created by Andrew Lippa, premiered at almost excatly the same time as the LaChiusa version. The characters and plot remain the same, but the music is drastically different, and, in the opinion of many, more powerful.

While the music in the LaChiusa version is structured more for the purpose of furthering the plot and character development, Lippa's version is in the eyes of many, simply more fun. Also, LaChiusa's music adheres more to the Jazzy quality of the period the story is set in, but Lippa leans more towards contemporary music styles.
