Although The Turner Diaries was only available by mail order and at gatherings and gun shows, and serialized, in part, in National Alliance publications, sales of the book are estimated to be approximately one-half million copies, but the accounting is extremely imprecise due to the stigma and controversy of the subject matter and many retailers' refusal to stock it. The novel is now available through mainstream sources (ISBN 1-56980-086-3) and online in web and downloadable formats.
