The Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company
The Pacific Telephone & Telegraph company was the name of the former Bell System's telephone operations in California and Nevada. It provided telephone services in Oregon, Washington, and northern Idaho as well, until the late 1960s when those operations were split off to become Pacific Northwest Bell. When AT&T broke up in 1984, the company officially became known as Pacific Telesis.
