The Other is a 1972 chiller directed by Robert Mulligan and written by Tom Tryon, who was also the author of the novel. It stars Uta Hagen, Diana Muldaur, Chris Udvarnoky, Martin Udvarnoky, Norma Connolly, Victor French, Loretta Leversee, Lou Frizzell and Portia Nelson.

Set in rural New England in the 1930s, twin boys are born. Niles is undeniably good, but Holland seems to have something of an evil streak. Despite their different dispositions, Holland and Niles are very close. However, after Holland passes away following a strange illness, an eerie string of events unfolds.
