The Nutty Professor
The Nutty Professor is the title of a 1963 comedy film written and directed by and starring Jerry Lewis. The plot is a loose parody of Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Lewis plays Julius Kelp, an unkempt, buck-toothed, introverted, socially inept college professor who invents a serum that turns him into the extremely smooth, obnoxious, girl-chasing hipster Buddy Love (often interpreted as a lampoon either of Frank Sinatra or of Lewis' former showbiz partner Dean Martin). Stella Stevens costars as one of Kelp's students, who becomes one of Buddy's would-be conquests.
