The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday

The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday, or Gamehendge, as it is also known, is the senior thesis of Phish guitarist and primary vocalist Trey Anastasio, written while he attended Goddard College in 1987. Today, copies of the album are extremely rare and can only be found in bootleg form. The story was both a tape and essay piece and is composed primarily of a collection of songs that tell the tale of Gamehendge. The story is told in nine parts with narration in between. It is rumoured that he recieved an "F" for this composition, although this information has never been disclosed.

Since Anastasio's school days, the tracks from The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday have been played countless times at various Phish concerts. In Phish's later years, Anastasio was occasionally compared to the "evil king Wilson," a character from the world of Gamehendge.
