The Magic Toyshop
The Magic Toyshop was first published in 1967 follows the development of heroine Melanie as she becomes aware of herself and her own sexuality. After the deaths of her parents, Melanie is moved to the care of her tyrannical uncle Philip, a toy maker, in London.

The novel was made into a film in 1987 produced by Steve Morrison and directed by David Wheatley. It was adapted by Angela Carter and stared Tom Bell and Caroline Milmoe, Killian MCKenna, Patric Kerrigan and Lorcan Cranitich.
