The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse
The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse is a film spin-off from the popular British television comedy series The League of Gentlemen. Starring Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith, the film was written by the cast with Jeremy Dyson, and directed by Steve Bendelack. Also featuring in guest roles are Victoria Wood, David Warner, Bruno Langley, Bernard Hill, and Peter Kay.
Plot
The film has a somewhat postmodern storyline in which the characters of the television series discover that they are fictional and are called upon to find a way into the 'real' world in order to confront their writers. The story draws perhaps from Paul Auster's The New York Trilogy and to a lesser extent, The Truman Show.
