The Jeff Foxworthy Show

The Jeff Foxworthy Show was a sitcom created out of his stand-up comedy persona, in 1995. This was Foxworthy's first network gig. It aired on ABC, but was canceled after one season. NBC subsequently picked up the show, but it was again canceled after one season. Foxworthy later remarked that the network did not understand how to properly market his humor; thinking his routine was "too Southern" for a national network, they based his sitcom in Indiana.

Bill Engvall and various other comics such as Jay Mohr and Bob Saget made regular or cameo appearances, as did country singer Travis Tritt. Show themes often included the usual rural schtick such as wrestling and the Southern perspective of the American Civil War, but also good ol' family living too.
