The Good Life was one of the most successful British sitcoms of all time, produced by the BBC during the mid-1970s. The programme ran for several series and is still being repeated. It was shown in the US as Good Neighbors. It was written by Bob Larbey and John Esmonde and recently came ninth in a BBC poll to find 'Britain's Best Sitcom'.

There were 28 half-hour episodes made, which were shown in four series of seven. The first of which aired April 4, 1975 and the last on the 22nd of May, 1977. Later, there were two special episodes. The first was a 30 minute Christmas special which aired on Dec. 26th 1977, and the second was a special Royal Command Performance (see below for details), which was shown on June 10th, 1978.
