The Firm (book)
The Firm is a 1991 legal thriller and the second novel by John Grisham. It was his first widely recognized piece of work as Grisham's first novel, A Time to Kill, was only marginally successful and did not bring the author to the attention of the general public.

The novel focuses on Mitch McDeere, a man who has just graduated third in his class at Harvard. He has offers from law firms in New York and Chicago, but he is seduced by a promise of great pay to a small law firm in Memphis. However, the firm he has just been hired by is a front for a mob money laundering scheme. FBI agents convince Mitch to help them bring the firm down, but after he double crosses them, he is on the run from the firm and the law.
