The Farmer Takes a Wife is a 1934 play written by Frank B. Elser and Marc Connelly and based on a novel by Walter D. Edmonds. The film spawned a 1935 comedy film, directed by Victor Fleming, which marked the Hollywood debut of Henry Fonda.
