![]() The eXile is an irreverent and controversial biweekly English language newspaper based in Moscow. Loyal eXile readers appreciate the eXile for its mix of caustic satire, unvarnished opinions, invented personalities, investigative reporting, personal stories, truth-telling, and vicious polemics. In addition, the eXile provides perspectives and satire tailored to the local members of the Moscow expatriate community and publishes a regarded guide to Moscow restaurants and nightlife. The eXile has also gained a reputation for pulling many pranks and stunts. The eXile was founded in 1997 by Mark Ames. Matt Taibbi was recruited after the third issue and became a co-editor.
