The Electric Company was an educational children's television program produced by the Children's Television Workshop (CTW) for the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) of the United States. PBS broadcast 780 episodes over the course of five-and-a-half years (October 25, 1971 to April 15, 1977). CTW produced the show at Reeves Teletape Second Stage in Manhattan; during the 1970s, Reeves offered some of the most advanced computer-generated imagery in the industry, but later filed for bankruptcy.
