The Bund (???) was a classic 1979 TVB action series broadcast in Hong Kong, starring Chow Yun-Fat and Lui Leung-Wai as triad members in prewar Shanghai and their struggle for power and survival. The pair were caught in a love triangle with the female lead Angie Chiu.

The show is remembered for three things. The wedding scene and the scene in which Chow Yun-Fat's character is gunned down. These two scenes have been repeated with varying levels of reverence both on the small screen and large screen in Hong Kong. The third thing the series is remembered for is the truly remarkable theme song, a karaoke favourite. Belted out by Frances Yip, it was an early offering from the Gu Gaa-fai and Wong Jim collaboration.

His character having been killed off, Chow Yun-Fat did not return for the sequels The Bund II and III, however Lui Leung-Wai continued to play his signature role of Ding Lik, a role he later returned to in unrelated movies.

The original series was remade in the late 1990s with Sunny Chan Kam Hung (capitalising on a passing resemblence to Chow Yun-Fat) in Chow's role of Hai Mun Kueng and with Nnadia Chan in Chiu's role of Feng Ting Ting.
