1. The Blue Bird (original title L'Oiseau Bleu) is the title of a story by Maurice Maeterlinck. It has been turned into both a play and a movie.

The story is about a girl called Mytyl and her brother Tyltyl seeking happiness, aided by the good fairy Berylune. The Dutch school types Mytyl schools and Tyltyl schools are named after them: they are for children with a physical disability and for children with both a physical and mental disability, respectively.
