In conjunction with the animated series, The Archie Show, a set of studio musicians were assembled by former Monkees producer, Don Kirshner to perform various songs. The most famous is "Sugar, Sugar" which went to #1 on the pop chart. Most of the male lead vocals were sung by Ron Dante and the female by Toni Wine. Most of the songs were written or co-written by Jeff Barry, who has written and/or produced many of the top hits of the '60s, including The Archies' number one song of 1969, "Sugar Sugar". Mr. Barry was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
