Tha Carter

2004 Lil' Wayne Album

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Tha Carter was preceded by Tha Drought mixtape and Tha Prefix mixtape, where he freestyled over The Black Album. Wayne freestyled Tha Carter, and this was recognized by Jay-Z. Wayne was considering signing with Rocafella, but decided not to. The Screwed and Chopped version was done by Mike Watts of Swishahouse, and is very good to listen to under intoxication. Tha Carter peaked at number five of the 2004 Billbord 200, and at number two of the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Tha Drought 2 mixtape is already out, and Tha Carter 2 is coming out in 2005, under Cash Money.
