Textron , headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island, is a U.S.-based conglomerate which, unlike many other conglomerates, remains fairly large even after the "glory years" in the 1960s.

Today the company's $10 billion is mostly made up of aviation interests, including Bell Helicopter, Cessna, Lycoming (considered part of Bell) and Textron Systems, which makes avionics. It also owns a number of unrelated companies, including Textron Fastening Systems, Greenlee (wire working tools), Cushman industrial vehicles, E-Z-GO golf carts and Jacobsen lawn-care products.
