- Henry Weidner Baylor (1818-1854), after whom Baylor County is named.
- George Wythe Baylor (1832-1916), Confederate Colonel.
- James Abijah Brooks (1855-1944), after whom Brooks County is named.
- Drew Carter (b. 1960), captured Ángel Maturino Reséndiz, the Railway Killer.
