In Alan Moore's fictional America's Best Comics universe, Terra Obscura was the name given to an alternate Earth discovered by Tom Strong during his 1968 exploration of deep space. Not only did this Earth appear similar to our own in many ways, including sharing our major historical events, but it also featured an alternate version of Tom Strong; Doc Tom Strange, a member of the science-heroes known collectively as S.M.A.S.H. (the Society of Major American Science Heroes).
