Tay people

The Tay (sometimes called Tho) belong to central Tai-Kadai language group and are located in the north of Vietnam (Cao Bang, Lang Son, Bac Thai, and Quang Ninh Provinces). They habitat the fertile plains and generally agriculturalists, mainly cultivating rice. The majority adheres to ancestor and spirit worship. The Tay are closely related to the Nung and the Zhuang on the Chinese side of the Vietnam-Sino border.
