Tatarstan

The Republic of Tatarstan (Tatar: ????????? ????????????/Tatarstan Respublikas?; {{lang-ru|??????????? ?????????? or ????????}}) is a federal subject of the Russian Federation (a republic). The direct transliteration of the Russian name of the republic is Respublika Tatarstan.

Another version of Tatar name is Tatarstan Cömhüriäte (cömhüriät also is the Tatar term for republic; it is ultimately derived from the Arabic "Jumhuriyya"), but it is not official. The unofficial Tatarstan motto is: Buld?rab?z! (We can!).
