Takafumi Horie

Takafumi Horie (??????Horie Takafumi) born October 29, 1972 in Yame, Fukuoka Prefecture) is a Japanese male entrepreneur known as CEO of Livedoor Co., Ltd. According to his biography, he was raised by his father, a salaryman, and his mother, who worked in agriculture.

Surprise Political Career

Horie announced in 19 August 2005 that he will run in the snap election as an independent in the Hiroshima #6 district. Horie discussed running against LDP rebel Shizuka Kamei as an official LDP candidate, but elected to run as an independent while keeping the support of the LDP leadership. He lost the election and returned to Tokyo to continue his successful entrepreneurial career. Kamei ended up defeating Horie in a rather close vote of 110,979 to 84,433.
