Tadcaster


 
 

Tadcaster is a town in North Yorkshire, England, lying on the River Wharfe and the Great North Road. It was founded by the Romans, who named it Calcaria.

The town although once home to four breweries is currently home to three, Coors, John Smith and Samuel Smith. The fourth stood on the site of the present central carpark.

Tadcaster has an excellent secondary school and is also home of the motte of a castle.
