Symphony No. 8 (Schubert)
Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 8 in B minor, commonly known as the Unfinished, was started in 1822 but left with only two movements complete even though Schubert would live for another six years. A nearly completed, but rarely performed, scherzo also survives.

It has two movements:

- Allegro moderato in B minor
- Andante con moto in E major
This first movement starts in the key of B minor, which is a rare key to use in the early Romantic, then Schubert modulated to the surprising G major after four measures of transition.

Sometimes this work is referred to as Symphony No. 7, since the other work sometimes referred to as Schubert's No. 7 was also left incomplete, but in a different way.
