Swami Kriyananda
Swami Kriyananda, born J. Donald Walters, is a direct disciple of the yogi Paramahansa Yogananda, and spent many hours with him during the last three years of Yogananda's life (1948 – 1952). During this time Kriyananda became a minister for Self-Realization Fellowship, an organization set up by Paramahansaji himself and was asked by Yogananda to teach Kriya Yoga, which Yogananda called the highest technique of Self-realization.
Recent years
In 1996, Swami Kriyananda was invited to live at the Ananda Italy center, and began to spend most of the year there, helping to spread Yogananda's teachings globally. http://www.yoganandacommunity.org/spiritual_roots.html

Since 2004, Swami Kriyananda has been working with others to start an Ananda center in New Delhi, India, where he currently resides. He appears daily on the Sadhana channel and the worldwide Aastha channel and gives regular public talks. http://www.anandaindia.org/
