• avoid suspension from a single limb;
• to refrain from attaching the neck to any bondage, due to the likelihood of death by hanging or slow asphyxiation;
• to refrain from using handcuffs to suspend a person in any way, since they could cut into the limbs, their nerves and blood vessels, causing serious and permanent damage;
• for full suspension, to tie the supports to as many limbs as possible, and the body, to avoid danger of asphyxiation, blood being unable to reach the limbs, or anything else;
