Superpower

A superpower is a state with the ability to influence events and project power on a super scale. Nations can be a superpower without being a Global Empire, such as ancient Egypt, the Aztec Empire, the Roman Empire or China. In modern terms, this may imply an entity with a huge economy, a large population, and strong armed forces, including air and space power and a considerable arsenal of weapons of mass destruction. Criteria for superpower status are described in more detail below.
