Subtext can also refer to the thoughts and motives of the characters which are only covered in an aside. Subtext can also be used to imply controversial subjects without specifically alienating people from the fiction, often through use of metaphor. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ H.G.
